Built in 1894, this classic Queen Anne Victorian home was completely renovated in 2012 with an aim to preserve and respect the classic historic character while also maximizing energy performance. The deep energy-retrofit makes the home comfortable and affordable. Much of the original layout remains today. Updated master suite includes a newly built in balcony with awning to allow for privacy when needed. An unfinished third floor was turned into a guest suite and office with the addition of a staircase and egress windows providing a spectacular view to nearby Lake Champlain. Working with Maclay Architects, Red House Builders and Redmond Interior Design, no expense was spared. The connection to the outdoors with the help of Cynthia Knauf Landscape Design was enhanced with an oasis of gardens, stonewall, terrace and shed. The good bones of this home made the renovation of this home all the more worth it. The renovation was done from the inside out, taking down all the exterior walls from the inside, building them out to 5, insulating, and putting them back historically correct with the original trim and molding. Of course no renovation would be complete without new electrical, plumbing and heating. The existing double hung windows were replaced with wood clad triple pane replacements. Enjoy the historic charm while living with a home that perform forms like a new one. 25 Bayview is a beautiful and functional home in in one of Burlington's more delightful neighborhoods
